We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely spot! The room was clean and comfortable with fantastic sea views, making it perfect for our family. We took a short drive to the beautiful Robin Hood's Bay, just 5 miles away, and had a great time exploring together.
In my wife’s opinion, a kids’ play area would be great.

Would be happy to recommend for getting around area
Spacious room, lovely breakfast, the room was bigger than I was expecting with a balcony at the back and access to Sky on the TV, making it a perfect choice for relaxation after exploring. the facilities, including flat-screen TVs and an electric kettle, were more than adequate for our weekend stay.
Couldn't ask for more.

Just a reliable pick for strolling in Whitby with extraordinarily good value for money. The large shower in the bathroom was luxurious. Check out the local hotspots they recommend for a great time.

A Hidden Gem with Stunning Views!
We spent two delightful nights enjoying the breathtaking sea views from the shared lounge. The full English breakfast was perfectly cooked, and the honesty bar added a lovely touch. Don't miss the cozy lounge with a fantastic selection of books! Aim for a sea view room for the best experience.

A comfortable stay with a warm welcome from the staff made the experience enjoyable. The room was well-furnished with a large bed, ample space, and a well-designed en-suite. A notable highlight was the homemade ice-cream served at breakfast, which was a delightful treat. The location was perfect for leisurely walks into town, although the walk back required navigating some hills.

we had such a great stay at the wheeldale hotel! the location was perfect on the sea front, super close to everything. the rooms were really spacious n clean. The staff were just amazin, so friendly n helpful. breakfast was plentiful, like, really sets you up for the day. loved chillin in the lounge with comfy chairs and a nice view.
the only bummer was the dining room felt kinda dull and could use some more atmosphere. also, it would be nice to have blackout curtains in the room for better sleep.

great location but needs some minor updates
The staff provided exceptional service and made us feel very welcome during our two-night stay. The breakfast offerings were diverse and freshly prepared, allowing us to start our day on a high note.
Some areas of the hotel felt a little outdated and could benefit from a refresh.

I loved relaxing in the cozy common room and soaking up the sun on the outdoor terrace. While the large space in the room was fantastic, it could really use some extra seating. Definitely recommend trying the breakfast, it's a delicious way to start your day! 😊

Had a fantastic time with friends! The location was perfect as we could stroll over to the beach and explore the charming harbor. We also visited Robin Hood's Bay, which was just breathtaking. The room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast offered a great variety to kickstart our days.
One downside was the parking situation. It could get a bit cramped, so be prepared for some maneuvering. Just be cautious and check the layout when you arrive.

the view from the room was nice, and the breakfast was decent. the location was pretty good as you could walk to the beach. the room was clean and comfy enough for a quick stay. the vibe felt kinda homey, even if the service was a bit off. overall, it had potential for a good time.
the staff was pretty rude when we arrived n we didn’t get the room we expected. also, the bathroom had barely any toilet paper and we had to go buy more after a long drive.

missingWrote a review on Jun 22honesty baramazing viewscomfortable loungelacking amenities
Views from the room were exceptional, offering a stunning sight of the sea that’s hard to beat. The lounge area featured an honesty bar with good pricing, creating a laid-back atmosphere for winding down after a day of exploring.
Some facilities left a lot to be desired. Breakfast served between 8 and 9 felt hurried, producing a mediocrity in the menu offerings, coupled with undercooked items like bacon and fried eggs—a significant letdown on what should be a highlight. There was a noticeable lack of attention to detail with inadequate room amenities, such as insufficient tea and coffee supplies and no extra pillows or blankets provided. parking became a hassle, requiring a long walk from the car—an inconvenient way to start or end a day.
